The Bunker is large; We contain multitudes. This week on the program, author and ELCA pastor Kathryn Haueisen stopped by to talk about her debut novel, Mayflower Chronicles: The Tale of Two Cultures.
She’s traversed the country. She’s worked as a journalist, a public relations specialist, a freelance writer, and a pastor. In between, she’s written five non-fiction books.
But her historical fiction novel might be the most personal.
About Kathryn Haueisen
Kathryn Haueisen combines her journalism degree and people and projects that interest her. A descendent of two Mayflower passengers, and grandmother to young people with Native American heritage, she spent seven years researching the background of what happened when the English met the Natives in modern New England. Mayflower Chronicles: The Tale of Two Cultures is her debut historical fiction about events on both sides of the Atlantic that led to founding Plimoth Patuxet in 1620.
In addition to working with congregations around the country, she’s published five previous books and dozens of articles in such publications as Writer’s Digest, Marriage & Family Living, House Beautiful, Highlights for Children, Camping Journal, and a variety of faith-based and regional publications.
Her weekly blogs at www.howwisethen.com, highlight good people doing great things. She lived in Houston with her husband, Tom Brandino and travels as often as time and finances permit to explore new parts of the world and visit family.
