Meredith O'BrienMeredith O’Brien started her career as a newspaper reporter and investigative journalist before transitioning into an author and teacher.

She stopped by the Jam Bunker to talk with Brad about her fourth book, Uncomfortably Numb: a memoir, which chronicled the life-altering impact of her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.

And, they took a little side-trip through her heartbreaking book Mr. Clark’s Big Band: A Year of Laughter, Tears and Jazz in a Middle School Band Room, which won an Independent Book Publisher Award and was a finalist for a ForeWord INDIES award.

A former newspaper reporter, investigative journalist, blogger and columnist, Meredith teaches journalism at Northeastern University in Boston where she also serves as a writing coach.
