About Mintie Das
Mintie Das was born in Assam, India, grew up in Macomb, Illinois and now lives in Helsinki, Finland. Mintie has spent her life living and traveling all over the world which has led to a lifelong case of wanderlust.
The discovery of the unknown is her greatest inspiration which is why she’s usually in a new country every month. After fifteen years working in global PR, she fulfilled her lifelong dream to write with her first YA series, Storm Sisters. Storm Sisters was translated into eight languages, published in twenty-two territories and shortlisted for the Berlin Film Festival.
Mintie made her US debut when Newbery Medal winning author Kwame Alexander published Brown Girl Ghosted through his imprint, Versify (HMH), in March 2020.
Mintie is now working with a major Hollywood studio on adapting her next IP, Tough Cookie. Her global adventures and her addiction to John Hughes, Judy Blume and Shonda Rhimes is why Mintie loves writing stories about kickass heroines of color.
