What a fun book!

I’m not always keen on time travel as a construct because it’s hard to do well. But Gillian McAllister really nailed everything about this book. I don’t even want to discuss why it’s great because so much of the fun was letting everything unfold. (Normally I’m pretty good at nailing plot points, but I missed so many things that later I was like “OF COURSE.” And that, my friends, is author magic!)

This is a fast read in all the good ways, mostly because I didn’t want to put it down. Like many thrillers, the chapters are short, which creates tension like waves crashing on the shore. Each new bit of information had me wanting for the next bit. I can’t tell you how much sleep I missed over the two nights I read this.

I don’t like comparing books, but here’s what I will tell you: If loved books like The Time Traveller’s Wife or This is How You Lose the Time War, you’re going to bonkers over this. Now, if you haven’t read either of those, check out Wrong Place Wrong Time and now you have two other recommendations.
